Pedro Salvador Arias Alvarado, the director of Public Security in Erongarícuaro, Michoacán, was caught firing an AK-47 rifle, commonly known as the “goat horn,” in the middle of the street. This weapon is for the exclusive use of the Army, making this act a federal crime.

A video circulating on social media shows the commissioner, dressed in civilian clothes, firing the AK-47. According to the Federal Law on Firearms and Explosives, the “goat horn” is restricted to military use.

The Public Security Secretariat of Michoacán has announced that investigations are underway for this alleged federal crime.

“Regarding the video where an officer assigned to the Erongarícuaro Public Security Department allegedly misuses a firearm, we inform that an investigation has been initiated by the institution’s Internal Affairs department; we will also collaborate with the efforts of the Attorney General’s Office to clarify the incident,” stated the Secretariat.
